Here is the article for my double page spread.
In the building today we got the mutli platinum selling artist, “shockz”. We will be interviewing him, asking him so many different questions such as when he will release new songs, his past life, artists he likes, when he will release his new album and many more. Before we begin some of you might be wondering, who is shockz? Well shockz is currently one of the biggest artists in the world however; he is also a business man. Shockz was brought up in the slums of Croydon, where he lived a rough life. Before his rap career, shockz was known to be in a notorious gang. He would also record tracks in his spare time where he then realised his talent and so he decided to pursue a rap career. He is most known for his songs ‘Rap game’ and ‘lets lurk’.


Shockz, its good to finally have you in the building. So lets begin with asking you, how does it feel to currently be one of the biggest artists in the game?

Well, now I’m used to it bruv, but I do appreciate it and it feels great, but I’m not surprised, I believe I’m at the top for a reason, and that reason is because I am an unbelievable rapper and the fans can see that.

Well yh, you are a good rapper. So lately you have been in a rap beef with a few other artists, do you want to tell me about it?

Yh I know and to be honest I don’t really want to talk about it bruv, because they are irrelevant to me, but I will tell you that it started from ages ago, before I was a big time rapper, we had beef on the street as we were from different territories, and since then it has carried on, and as we are both rappers now, the beef has resulted in us making diss tracks. The beef now is not that serious now though s we are trying to keep the beef only in music and not for it to escalate to violence, as diss tracks are also good for hip hop as it shows the fans our rap ability to rap battle and it is entertaining.

Ok, well I’ve heard your diss tracks and they are pretty impressive, do you think that the beef will be diffused in the future?

Well like I said before, the beef is not that serious, so as long as it doesn’t escalate it is fine, but I don’t know if the beef will ever be squashed, because we just don’t get on, and we have had some serious beef in the past.

Ok, so shockz you are now a platinum selling artist, how did you manage to get to this and how does it feel?

Well It feels great, but there is no secret behind it, it is simply that I am talented and I work hard. It was not easy to get where I am, and there was a lot of struggles behind the scences that most of you don’t see, but now here I am and I’m not complaining but I’m just saying that it wasn’t easy to get where I am but now I’m at the top of the rap game, you get me. There is no other rapper out there like me, I’m the greatest.

Q. Yh well ok shockz before you go, what are your plans for your music career in the future?

Well I have some new music tracks that I will be releasing soon and I’m sure that the fans will enjoy them, and also I have a new album that I will be releasing soon.

Production diary update 9

This week i created my colour scheme , my masthead designs and mast head colours. This week was fairly difficult.This is because it took a while and it took me time to think of a name and choose a font.

In my previous post i came up with masthead designs. The masthead name i chose was 'reloaded'.

Th reason i chose this masthead name is because it is unique and it is short and simple.The theme of y magazine is rap and this fits well because 'reloaded' makes you think of a gun , and is quite an aggressive theme so this fits well.It also shows that the magazine has always got fresh content as it is always reloaded.

This week i created my analysis of 2 music magazines of the same genre that i am doing, my double page spread mood board and my front cover mood board.

Here is my readership profile which is based on my questionnaire results. I first asked what gender are you.The results were fairly equal so i know that my magazine has to appeal to both genders.I also asked what is your age.The majority said 16-17 therefore i know that my magazine has to appeal to mainly those of a young age. I also asked what is your occupation.Most people said students which makes sense as most people who took the questionnaire were of a young age. 

I then went on to ask do you listen to music. Most people said yes which shows that my magazine will appeal to a lot of people as it is a music magazine.I also went on to asking those who listen to music , what type of music they listen to.Most people said hip-hop and rap which tells me that i should make a rap/hip-hop magazine as it would appeal to more people.I then went on to ask who is your favourite artist as this would give me an idea of what artists i would include in my magazine.I found that based on the result most peoples favourite artists were r&b and hip-hop artists.I also asked what do you do in your spare time.Most people said sports so this tells me that i could included something relevant to sports in my magazine. 


I also asked if you buy magazines. It was a fairly equal response so this shows that in order for more people to buy the magazine i have to make it very appealing and take on board the results from the questionnaire results and i try and included the, as this would appeal to the viewers.I then asked the people who do buy magazines , how often they buy them.I found out that they are not bought that often. This therefore shows that i wont be making a weekly type magazine.

I then went on to asking how much they would pay for a magazine.From the results i got i found out they are willing to pay a fair amount of money.This shows that i need to make a high quality magazine in order to make the magazine worth the price.
I then went on to ask what people would like to see in the magazine as this would give me a better idea of what should be included in the magazine.The majority of people said interviews , so this shows that interviews should be included in the magazine.

Here is my production diary update where i will be telling you the tasks i have completed.The tasks i have completed are my target audience vox pops where i filmed and edited my own version of the mannequin challenge.I found this tasks enjoyable as i learnt new editing skills.I also done my audience research mood board where i had to use pinterest and pin pictures related to my genre of my music magazine.I also created my questionnaire and my readership profile which was related to the answers from my questionnaire.

COMPARISON OF MUSIC MAGAZINES 

This first magazine is a rock magazine. This follows the conventions as their are a lot of dark colours such as the colour black.This goes well with the type of music the magazine is advertising as these colours could be seen as 'serious ' and 'dark' colours which is how rock is also seen.The title has a very cool and stylish font which shows the magazine is stylish and up to date.The second magazine is of an r&b magazine.They are similar in terms of the colours being alike as they both use dark colours. However, even though they both use dark colours , r&b is not really seen as dark of a music genre as rock.They have used a picture of Cheryl who is well known therefore people who know her are likely to buy the magazine.The main differences in the magazines are that the rock magazine consists of 3 people whereas the r&b consists of 1 person which follows the conventions of a rock magazine as typically rock artists are seen in bands instead of solo musicians.
